The crown jewel of Milwaukee summer entertainment, Summerfest had its 50th anniversary this year! The World’s Largest Music Festival certainly did not disappoint – a couple weeks of non-stop music, food, and beautiful weather is hard to beat. What I appreciate most about Summerfest is that there’s something for everybody. It’s, of course, awesome enough that you can see a number of popular bands without breaking the bank… but even if you don’t go to see anyone in particular, you can bounce between stages, catch a lot of new music and local bands, eat, drink, and walk around the lakefront.
This year, I went to go see Bleachers, who absolutely brought the house down, in my opinion. They were incredible, the weather was perfect for an outdoor concert, and everyone was just thoroughly enjoying themselves. I also had the chance to try the infamous sour cream and onion fries from Saz’s (which I have come to realize probably gets the award for “most food stands at any and every festival”). They were pretty decent, I must say, though not as mind-blowing as I was expecting. I’d eat them again, but look forward to trying other fried festival foods next time.
Overall, thank you Summerfest for another year!
